About the Center: Core Teachings

The Yoga we teach is based on the Five Points of Yoga for perfect health:

1) Proper Exercise (Asana)
2) Proper Breathing (Pranayama)
3) Proper Relaxation (Savasana)
4) Proper Diet (Vegetarian)
5) Positive Thinking and Meditation (Vedanta and Dhyana)


and the synthesis of the
Four major paths of Yoga:

Jnana Yoga
The path of self-inquiry leading to God-realization. The Yoga of knowledge, the philosophical approach.
Raja (and Hatha Yoga) The scientific path of the systematic control of body and mind, culminating in Meditation and Samadhi (the Superconscious state.)
Bhakti Yoga
The path of Devotion, culminating in unconditional love for all beings.
Karma Yoga
The path of selfless service, necessary for spiritual purification and is preparation for Jnana Yoga.
